Carrying idler, carrying rollers, conveyor idlerA carrying idler, also known as a carrying roller, is the most fundamental component of a belt conveyor system. It is installed on the load-carrying side to support the conveyor belt and bulk materials, reducing belt sag, friction and abnormal wear during operation. Without qualified carrying idlers, the whole conveyor will face unstable operation, belt deviation and high energy consumption.

According to structural design, carrying idlers are mainly divided into trough carrying idlers and parallel carrying idlers. Trough carrying idlers adopt 3–5 roller combination, forming a 30°–45° trough angle, which can greatly improve material capacity and avoid spillage. They are widely used in mining, coal, cement and port bulk material transport. Parallel carrying idlers use a single straight roller, suitable for cartons, bags and other packaged goods in logistics and food industries.

High-quality carrying rollers feature strong load capacity, flexible rotation and good sealing performance. At present, steel, nylon and polymer materials are common choices for carrying idlers. Choosing the right carrying idler can effectively extend the service life of the conveyor belt and reduce daily maintenance costs.
